Hugo Spritz Recipe
Ciao Ciao!
You’re welcome, because here comes your new favorite summertime drink.
A cold Hugo Spritz during the Milan heatwave was pretty much a necessity. I discovered this drink when visiting Murano, but thought it was specific to that waterside bar. Once I became a local in Milano, I realized a Hugo Spritz is a widely growing alternative in Italy to an Aperol spritz (not my favorite, but would drink if it was my only option, you know?). If I wasn’t sipping on a vodka soda with lemon, then I surely had a Hugo in hand.
Recipe:
1 serving of a Hugo Spritz, a light and refreshing apertivo
1 ounce of St. Germain (Elderflower Liqueur)
3-4 fresh mint leaves
1 lime slice
4-5 ounces of chilled Prosecco
Ice
Directions:
Fill your wine glass with ice
Pour one ounce of St. Germain directly over ice, add mint leaves & squeeze your lime
Top off with your chilled Prosecco & give it a light stir
Enjoy this uber refreshing drink
I hope you become as addicted as I am to Hugo Spritz, who knows, maybe we’ll see them on menu’s in the states soon! Crossing my fingers until then!
XOXO,
Kenzie Rae
